Botox and Filler Trainer, Dr David Loh

Workshop on 12 May 2012

Dr David Loh will be conducting an Facial Sculpting Workshop for Advanced Injectors this weekend at David Loh Surgery in Wheelock Place. Attending this workshop will be doctors who already have extensive experience with Botox and Fillers. Dr David Loh will demonstrate the techniques distilled from consensus meetings of Botox and fillers experts as well as from The Materclass workshops:

The Temporal Fossa

This is the area that hollows out when one looses too much weight. The hollowness creates a gaunt look and casts shadows across the face. Filling it out gives the face a softer outline.

The Mid-Cheek

This is the area that Voluma and Restylane SubQ were invented to treat. Dr David Loh will teach the suborbicularis oculi placement of the deep filler to create an optimal OG curve.  And also in the process obliterate the naso-jugal groove and the lift the jowls.

The Chin

In some cases where the chin (mandible bone) is small compared to the rest of the face, the cheeks will appear “fat” or “meaty”. Placing fillers into the chin creates a longer and sharper face. It also stretches out the cheeks so that the cheeks do not appear so “fat” or “chubby” anymore.

A Prospective Clinical Study of Noninvasive Cryolipolysis for Subcutaneous Fat Layer Reduction

Pre-procedure and four-month follow-up ultrasound images are available on 10 subjects. The follow-up ultrasound images indicate an average fat layer reduction in the treated areas of 22.4%. This result provides objective evidence of device efficacy with the initial energy extraction rates of this study.

Fine art of Facial Sculpting

Other than just skin-tightening (which it is FDA approved), Ulthera can also be used to shrink the facial fat and sculpt the face. but by placing the energy mainly over the SMAS (the areas closer to the ears and along the jawline) and avoiding the cheeks’ fat pads, we can also avoid shrinking the face too much. Ulthera has taken on a whole new pupose for sculpting faces that are too round or too “meaty” while at the same time lifting sagging skin.

PS: Did you know that Ulthera is the only FDA approved device for skin tightening? Apparently Thermage and Titan are only for wrinkle reduction!

Fat Transfer to the Breasts

Fat Transfer to the Breast

Fat Transfer to the Breast

Fat Transfer

Fat-transfer as a procedure can also be used to enlarge the breasts. After all, the breast is mainly fat. This procedure involves harvesting fats from another area, cleaning the fat cells and re-grafting it back to the breasts. Which makes it a liposuction-type surgical procedure. So some soreness of both the donor sight and the breasts is to be expected for a couple of days after the procedure. If co-incidentally you happen to be thinking of having a liposuction, then fat transfer to the breasts would be the obvious alternative to Macrolane or a silicone breast implant.

Like with Macrolane, we put the fat behind the glandular tissue so there will not be any issue with future mammograms. And the breasts look and feel completely natural.

In the past when doctors injected large amounts of fat back into the breasts, most of the transplanted fat cells die off. The blood supply was simply inadequate for that amount of grafted fat. By re-injecting only 150mls to 250ml on each side, we can achieve good survival rates and maintain evenness on both sides.

In the absence of Macrolane, fat transfer would be the next best thing to having a surgical procedure to insert a silicone breast implant.

This is an article by a local blogger on eyelash enhancers. Original article http://www.singaporearticles.com/sg/best-eyelash-enhancer/

Latisse Eyelash Enhancers

Idol Lash: is applied for those women with short and thin eyelashes to create capacious eyes and long thicker lashes. Using Idol lash is the same with eyeliner on a daily basis and would take 2-4 weeks to discover the effect and the difference compare to the past eyelashes. It can be applied to if you have eyelash extension. Idol lash was establish way back in 2002 and became popular in health and beauty industry. This product is approved by Natural Product and Association that provides them an effective healthy product for beauty and health purposes.

LATISSE: is a health product first approved by FDA and available only with a prescription. Latisse is formulated to grow lashes longer and fuller look. Latisse is effective as little as 8 weeks and have full results within 16 weeks. Latisse enhancement product is produced by Allergen; the same company who manufactures Botox, the prescription is used to treat Hypothytrichosis is a technical term for having too few eyelashes. Latisse has also its own side effect of using. It can occur bacterial keratitis which is known as an infection occurs in the eye’s cornea that makes the eye seem extremely red and inflamed. It is not necessary that a person will stop using it when that person refrains from any more treatments. It is recommended that when deciding whether or not to take Latisse, it is needed to talk to a doctor to find out if Latisse will help.

REVITALASH: Most women had first used Revitalash before Latisse strike the market. The product was developed by a doctor for the reasons to cure his wife from the hair loss side effect of chemotherapy. The eyelash conditioner creates fuller long lashes. Revitalash eyelash conditioner belongs to Athena cosmetics, Inc. that supports the fight against breast cancer. Revitalash claims to provide a longer, fuller, and thicker lashes anywhere between 3-10 weeks, which to think is a long a wait indeed. It must be applied using a brush applicator only once a day at a bedtime.

Peter Thomas Roth Lashes To die For: is created to provide longer, thicker, and fuller lashes like any eyelash enhancer product provides. It is patented as one of the most skincare products in the country. Peter Thomas to Die For is applied the same with liquid eyeliner during night time. Lilash Purified Eyelash Stimulator Treatments has a heavy price tag, but it comes with a 90-day guarantee and five months worth of product. Fans of Lilash rave that their eyelashes are so thick that they appear to be false, while false eyelash wearers say that Lilash helps prevent their natural lashes from breaking. What sets Lilash apart from other eyelash conditioners is its promise to be non-irritating, a common problem with these products. Lilash goes for around $140.

REAL LASH Conditioning Eyelash Treatment: is a kind of lash treatment that helps strengthen and condition your lashes while they grow to maximize your lash length. It is like more mascara applied in both bottom and top lashes to make successful. This will cost at $44. Make sure to used Real lashes twice a day, morning and night. This is our latest advertisement’s art work, which I thought was very tasteful and it has one of the best ad copies yet. But alas, but it was rejected by a certain airline magazine for not being “family oriented” enough.
