Enlarged Pores
a.k.a opened-pores and its treatments

Any laser, IPL or chemical peel will reduce pores and make skin more refined. But we go beyond by recommending a combination of IPL or laser with Intradermal BOTOX for best results.
BOTOX normally targets the muscles of facial expression. In the instance with Intradermal-BOTOX, it is not injected into the muscles of facial expression but on the fine muscles in the skin that control pore size - the erector pili. These muscles are the ones that make your hair stand on ends or cause goose bumps. The effect of BOTOX injected in this manner closes the skin's pores. This makes the skin look more refined and "matte".
The most direct pore-reducing treatment is Intradermal BOTOX (also called Micro-BOTOX). But it is in choosing the right synergistic combination that makes the real difference.
Background and History of Intradermal BOTOX
Coinciding with the popularity of Mesotherapy, its techniques have also been used with BOTOX in skin rejuvenation. The idea was first mooted by doctors who gave diluted doses of BOTOX in multiple epidermal blebs. Much like they would do with Mesotherapy drugs. They claimed that BOTOX injected in this manner had skin rejuvenation and lifting effects that far surpassed results previously observed with conventional BOTOX Cosmetic. The medical profession looked skeptically at meso-BOTOX and initially attributed this to the multiple punctures causing a certain degree of healing injury and hence more collagen regeneration. "Meso-anything" is still viewed by many to be highly suspicious of its claims. Skeptics were proven wrong in this particular instance with Meso-BOTOX. There are very sound scientific bases on its mode of action. The technique is now acknowledged by Allergan Inc, the makers of BOTOX®. The name has also been changed to Micro-BOTOX or Intradermal BOTOX in order to dissociate it from "meso-anything."
Intradermal BOTOX works by the following mechanisms:
Smaller Pores
Intradermal BOTOX is now known to deliver its main benefit from blocking the muscle activity of smooth muscle fibers around pores. Smaller pores means smaller skin surface area and hence a lifting effect when skin is stretched over the face.
Rejuvenates Skin
Within the skin, Intradermal-BOTOX suppresses oil production and is an inhibitor of inflammation cased by acne. Intradermal BOTOX gives previously greasy and acne-prone skin a chance to heal in the 3-4 months without acne such that there is less PIH and uneven tones. Skin actually heals with Intradermal BOTOX.
This is the finishing touch to anyone who already has beautiful skin.
BOTOX Heals!
Here's what we mean by "heal"
Brown or Red Marks
The brown marks (PIH) or the red marks after acne recovers faster with Intradermal. BOTOX injected into the skin blocks oil production, sweat production as well as reverse the inflammatory process that cause acne. BOTOX is a potent inhibitor of the main factor in the inflammation cascade. Hence there's less acne! Less acne means less Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) over time. Previously greasy skin with gapping pores and acne marks takes on a very refined appearance after just 2 months with Intradermal BOTOX. After several repeats of Intradermal BOTOX, the refined skin will not go away that easily.
Fine Lines
We can use Intradermal BOTOX to remove the wrinkles covering just about anywhere on the face. Even over areas considered "sacred" in conventional BOTOX techniques. After several months without folding, lines previously thought to be untreatable, will miraculously "heal" before your eyes. Even if your BOTOX appointment has lapsed, it would take many more months before the lines return.
We personally feel that there is some "permanent" benefit each time BOTOX is used as far as PIH and fine lines are concerned.
