Infrared Tissue Heating - non-surgical facelift
We started operating Titan back in 2005 years ago. Since 2009, Ulthera has replaced Titan as our preferred method of non-surgical facelift. This is because Titan results are generally very mild and it only worked on thin and delicate skin. It does no work on men or in Asian races.
Titan was the most refined Non-surgical Facelift among its class of similar skin tightening, facial contouring and collagen stimulating treatments. It was our treatment of choice for the type of sagging skin most commonly seen in Caucasian patients.
Titan belongs to a generation of "no-downtime lunch-time facelifts" that work by immediately contracting existing collagen and then going on to stimulate collagen for months afterwards.
Each Titan shot delivers a very accurate and measured dose of Infrared energy into the skin. The heat contracts collagen deep within the skin, but does not destroy them. This translates into an instant lifting effect of the skin. The fibroblasts (cells responsible for producing collagen) then go into overdrive to replace the contracted collagen for several months afterwards. Hence skin feels even tighter months after the first treatment.
What sets it apart from other IPL and Laser treatments is the fact that it has absolutely no downtime, and it gives results which are instant and which go on getting better for many months.
The results vary with age, sex and race. Most of the time it should feel good for 9 months to a year. The manufacturer Cutera had initially said it would last 2 years. After years of operating the Titan, we now routinely recommend yearly follow ups.
Titan can be used synergistically with BOTOX and/or Voluma to produce better results.
Ulthera has superceded Titan in its efficacy as a non-surgical facelift.
