Most IPLs and Lasers treatments can reduce pores indirectly. Even a chemical peel has some benefits.
For a whole host of regulatory reasons, lets shorten “Intradermal Botulinum Toxins” to Intradermal B*Toxins. This covers all the major brands of medically approved Botulinum Toxins in Singapore, including B*TOX, DYSP*ORT, and XE*MIN. The “*” is a Google requirement that we do not mention “brands” outright.
That we had to lump all the known brands into “Intradermal B*Toxins” is a requirement by HSA in Singapore that brands cannot be is promoted in isolation. But believe me, there are differences which I can relate to you at length, but only during a face to face consultation.
Intradermal B*Toxins (also known as Micro-B*Toxins or Meso-B*Toxins) directly targets the muscles that open pores. It reduces old and sweat gland secretions and hence refines skin.
HOW’S INTRADERMAL B*TOX DIFFERENT?
In this instance, Intradermal B*Toxin is not injected into the muscles of facial expression but on the fine muscles in the skin that control pore size – the erector pili. These muscles are literally within the skin, hence the name Intradermal B*Toxin. They are the ones that make your hair stand on ends or cause goose bumps. The effect of B*Toxin injected in this manner contracts the skin’s pores.
Intradermal B*toxin is the finishing touch to almost perfect skin. From our experience it does not show so much effect if there is severe oiliness or active acne still going on…
Shots of Dysp*rt placed intradermally along the hairline has also be shown to cause an immediate lifting of the face in a procedure termed Dermalift. More research needs to be done as to the exact mechanism of action. My take is that the immediate lifting effect is cause by swelling in the skin only and has nothing to do with the Dysp*rt.
MICRO-B*TOX ALSO HAS A FACELIFT EFFECT
Smaller pores result in a smaller skin surface area hence making skin more stretched out over the face. This is of course in theory only. The effects are quite mild. More research needs to be done with regards to this.
The shots along the jaw line reduce the downward drag of the platysmus muscle. A non-surgical facelift we call the “The B*Toxin Lift” is as such achieved.
OUR RECOMMENDED SYNERGISTIC COMBINATIONS
We recommend that Intradermal-B*Toxin be done together with a Carbon Peel or IPL for their synergistic properties in the reduction of active acne and post-acne marks (PIH). It is also good in the control of acne-like eruptions associated with Rosacea. When used as The B*Toxin Lift, we recommend that it be done with Sofwave, Ulthera or Thermage (all equally good, for HSA sake), again for the synergistic effects.
